My friend Giovanna Massoni was the first person to speak to me about it. She is an Italian who moved successfully to Brussels some years ago and is now an extremely active and curious protagonist behind the creativity scenes of Made in Belgium.

In actual fact, at the time I was somewhat worried about the idea of writing on ‘Young Belgian Designs’. Are there any designers in Belgium?! Yes, there certainly are. And they are also extremely good. And increasingly famous. The same applies to the companies: brands such as Vlaemsch, Dark, Naked, Bulo, Juventa, Wild Spirit, Vange are gradually making their presence felt in the ocean of design.
The most important designer is Sylvain Willenz.
